saltines

i just finished a whole sleeve of saltines.  i'm pretty sure that they could be a staple food for me.  and if i had to be described by a cracker, i think i would like to choose the saltine cracker to represent me.  its simple, never flashy, it goes with almost anything, with just a little bit of salty zip.

mmmmmmm......
are you seeing this?  a few of my favorites... peanut butter and chocolate on saltines.  bliss

overall it must be said, this is the greatest cracker ever made and certainly the best cracker that has entered my mouth.  i was in california last summer with my in-laws.  my mother-in-law, being the sweetheart that she is, asked us all what snacks we wanted from the store, when i requested saltines i'm pretty sure my sister-in-law thought i was pregnant and having morning sickness.  i wonder what i will end up eating when that happens...?  we'll find out in a couple years

the great mbm mission

Linda Willhite (my companion), Sister Fisher (our mission mom), and me
Me with President and Sister Fisher.  Love them.
Heywood, Kreimeyer, and Florence

last night my mission president from montana and his wife came to town so a bunch of us that served with them that live in AZ got together.  it was fun to think about my mission and the good times that i had there.  there is still a piece of my heart left in, "roman, mt: my living grave," as erika would call it.  i loved serving in the area i served, and i loved the missionaries i served with, and i love the Fishers.  i am so blessed.

priesthood

i am so grateful to have a wonderful, loving husband who honors his priesthood.  i have been having a problematic situation in my life that has recently grown to consume me.  this morning blake was able to give me a priesthood blessing.  i was able to feel of God's love and awareness.  things are going to work out.  they always do.  so grateful for a Father in Heaven who loves His children so much as to allow his power to be on the earth.  i love the direction given.

calculus

today i had my first test case in my dental hygiene program.  we are given 45 minutes to debride, polish, and take post-tx probe scores.  my wonderful mother-in-law was my patient (after being my patient all morning = she is definitely going to the celestial kingdom).  it went so well.  i was a little nervous, as i wasn't sure what to expect.  the cavitron was a life saver.  everything went really really well.

so excited to be done with this semester in just a few weeks.  mostly so i can get my husband back, but also so i don't have to worry about school for a few months.

more love everyday

i was talking with a girl at school today about how different we are than our significant others.  blake and i have many similar interests but have very different personalities.  what i realized as the conversation progressed is how much we have changed and adapted for each other.  it has made a world of difference to have a relationship that evolves and progresses over time.  we were crazy about each other when we got married, but we have such a deeper love now that we understand each other a little better.  don't get me wrong, i know we still have a lot of learning to do, but i'm amazed at what the learning in the past year has brought us.  i'm so grateful for a husband who cares enough about me to make changes, and who encourages me and supports me as i try to make my own.

switzerland

one of my best friends from my mission (alessia simoncini) got married in march in italy.  blake was sweet enough to take me over to switzerland to see the sealing.  we stayed with some mission friends (tiffany stussi and olivia prochazka) and they were amazing tour guides.  we had such a fun time seeing their beautiful country.  it was over spring break so it was also fun to forget about school for a while and just spend time with each other.

the prochazka family!  they were so good to us.  we miss them and hope they come visit arizona soon.

here it goes

so i created this blog before blake and i got married, so well over a year ago and i never really figured out how to work it.  but, i figure it could serve well as journal entries so capture the exciting things that happen in our lives.

whenever things get popular, i can't do it.  i hate going along with what other people are doing.  i remember when ipods first came out and started to get big while i was in high school.  i didn't want to show any interest in them because of their growing popularity.  i was resistant to facebook for years but finally gave into when i got home from my mission and wanted to stay in touch with friends.  i see all these newlywed couples set up these blogs that usually the wife updates, and i just didn't want to be one of those wives.  but, here i am, eventually giving into the pressures of the world.

a little about us.  last saturday, blake and i celebrated our 1 year anniversary.  i can't believe it has been a year already.  the time went really fast, and yet at the same time, it feels like we have been married forever.  he is my best friend in the whole world.  i am always excited to tell him about my day and to hear about his when he gets home from work.  i am very, very blessed to be married to someone who truly values who i am, and yet helps me to be a better person each day.  God really knew what he was doing when he put us together.  we are living in phoenix right now as i am going to dental hygiene school at phoenix college and he is still at ASU.  he graduates in less than a month!!!  he has had a very busy year working full time and going to school full time while having a church calling, and spending time with me.  we love our lives together and are looking forward for another great year of marriage.
